Absence of Predators on an Ecosystem
Think about the opposite effects of this
Changes are coming. . .
What in the world is going on you wonder? With trepidation you take the folded piece of paper from Sam. You begin to read the message that sent Sam searching for you:

RE: Changes are coming
Please be advised that we have received important information regarding the area you are currently researching. There will be a dramatic increase in the wild life within the ecosystem. Conditions in neighboring areas have become unliveable and there are large numbers of animals headed your way. We believe many or these animals to be predators of small to medium sized animals, while some are plant eaters.
Since you are on location, we are counting on you to report what effect you think this change will have on the ecosystem. We know you only have another day or two, so please use the time you have wisely. We have provided a hot spot device and laptop so that you can find information you need in order to make a sound prediction. Good luck and thank you for your dedication.
You have no time to waste, so you settle in with the laptop and begin researching!
Use the links below to find out how animal overpopulation can affect an ecosystem. Pay specific attention to how this will affect the ANIMALS you have researched. Then spend time with the research you have done on your ecosystem to make a prediction about what will happen to the area you are in. Use the research guide-animals, to record your findings.

You have spent the past day and a half learning all you can about the effects that animal overpopulation will have on the ecosystem that you are in. It is now time to head back home. Sam arrives in his jeep to take you and Ben to the airport. You have carefully packed up all of your supplies that you have used this week and the boxes are stacked and ready to go. Your notebooks and laptop are in your backpacks so that you are able to comb over all the details you have learned on the plane ride home. As you climb in the jeep and pull away, you look back at the area and realize that it is now familair to you and you are going to miss this place.
Once you are at the airport Sam helps you and Ben take all of the boxes to the shipping desk. With a quick hug and a promise to keep in touch, you board the plane and head home. A good night's sleep in your own bed is something you are looking forward to!
After a weekend off to recover from your travels, you head back into the office on Monday morning. You stop at the staff mailboxes to collect your overflowing mail, and bump into Jack.
"Hey, good to see you back! How was it?" Jack asks.
"It was amazing, you would not believe the animals we saw! I can't believe that the area will be changing so soon, I sure hope the animals and plants are able to adapt quick enough to survive," you respond.
"I was hoping that you could present your findings to us in the meeting on Friday. I'd like you to use the Prezi program that was introduced in the last staffing. In fact, our online subscriptions are growing so fast, I think our online readers would enjoy a Prezi too. This way you can share your photos and information all in one place," Jack explains.
"That sounds great, I better get started though," you agree.
"Here is a copy of what I'll be looking for, make sure you include everything. You can always add extra information that you think our readers will be interested in. Remember to have fun with it," Jack says as he leaves.
You begin to look over his expectations:
