This iAdventure is planned for 6th grade students using Life Science and Speaking/Listening Standards. The standards covered are listed at the bottom of this page. I would suggest approximately 3 weeks of class time (45 minutes sessions each day) to complete all of the work that is integrated throughout the process. You will need to become familiar with the "Prezi" site and instruct students in how to use the program to complete their final project.

In this iAdventure, students will take on the role of a reporter for the National Geographic website and magazine. Students will begin by learning about different biomes of the world and choosing where they want to go research. Students will then decide whether to focus on plant or animal life within the biome. Once this choice is made, students will research a specific plant or animal to investigate the ecosystem of. Students will be exposed to changes in the ecosystem such as heat/drought and over population. Students will research what effect these changes may bring to their chosen environment. All of this will be wrapped up with a Prezi assignment that they will present to their collegues at National Geographic upon their return.
